Newcastle United supporters deliver 'strong' verdict on 1860 Munich team news

Newcastle United supporters are impressed with the strength in depth as the Magpies gear up to take on 1860 Munich in the first game of their Austria tour. Eddie Howe named a strong starting XI and gave Nick Pope his first start for the Magpies.

Sven Botman was named among the substitutes alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier. Elliot Anderson was given another chance to impress in a black and white shirt as he lined up alongside Joe Willock and Jonjo Shelvey in the heart of midfield.

For Newcastle supporters, the squad named to face the 3.Bundesliga side was a welcome sight. The arrival of the new owners and the impressive business in the transfer markets to date, has only heightened the feel good factor on Tyneside.
