It was a good evening for Miguel Almiron Kieran Trippier and Sven Botman as Newcastle United supporters had their say on the defeat to Benfica. The Paraguayan was awarded an average rating of 8.3 by Magpies' supporters after notching a brace against the Portuguese side.
Trippier was rated the joint-second highest after another solid display, grabbing both assists for Almiron's goals, while Botman was also award with a 7.2. Debutant Matty Bondswell also scored relatively high with a 6.2 average rating with the former RB Leipzig full-back impressing in Benfica.
However, it was a bad night for Chris Wood, Jamaal Lascelles and Joelinton, with the latter of the trio being sent off for late challenge. New Zealand forward Wood was rated the lowest with a 4.3, while Lascelles picked up an average rating of 5.1.

Joelinton will now sit out of the Magpies game against Atalanta this Friday after picking up two yellows at the Estádio da Luz. Newcastle lost the Eusebio Cup at the death on Tuesday evening as Henrique Araujo punished the 10-men.
Eddie Howe's side will take on Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao this weekend to round off their pre-season preparations before the season opener against Nottingham Forest.
