Newcastle United remain the bookmakers' favourites to sign Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison, despite interest from reigning champions Manchester City.
According to MailOnline, Man City are interested in signing Maddison as part of a squad overhaul in the summer. Pep Guardiola wants to 'add goals' to his squad, which Maddison has delivered in plentiful supply for Leicester this season.
The 26-year-old returned from a knee injury in Leicester's 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion last month as a second half substitute. He has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 14 appearances in the Premier League this term.
His stellar form earned him a call-up into Gareth Southgate's England squad for the 2022 World Cup, although Maddison didn't feature for the Three Lions in Qatar.

Newcastle have been long-time admirers of Maddison, and had two bids rejected by Leicester for the playmaker back in the summer.
The Magpies were heavily linked with Maddison during the January transfer window, and are still the bookies' leading candidate to land his signature at 2/1 on Betfair.
Man City are joint-second favourites along with Tottenham Hotspur at 6/1, while Arsenal and Manchester United are 12/1 and 14/1 respectively to sign the England international.
