Newcastle United midfielder Miguel Almiron has been nominated for the Premier League's Goal of the Season award for his stunning solo strike against Crystal Palace.
In a week that has already seen Almiron's mocked by Manchester City's Jack Grealish during his sides title winning celebrations, the Paraguayan winger's stunning solo strike against Crystal Palace in April is one of ten goals up for the award.
Collecting a long ball forward from Bruno Guimaraes, Almiron burned past Palace full-back Tyrick Mitchell down the right flank, blazing his way into the box before producing a stellar curling effort into the top left hand corner which Vicente Guiata could do nothing about.

On Monday, Almiron received an unnecessary jibe from Grealish during Man City's Premier League title celebrations.
Grealish said "Riyad [Mahrez], take him off the pitch, as soon as possible. He played like Almiron," suggesting team-mate Riyad Mahrez had played poorly in their 3-2 win over Aston Villa.
The suggestion from Grealish seems to be that Mahrez's poor performance was the same quality of Almiron's regular performances for Newcastle.
However, Almiron played a major part in helping Newcastle secure their Premier League survival with nearly a month to spare and his April Goal of the Month Award is an accolade which neither Mahrez or Grealish can claim to have won.
