Newcastle United are among the clubs to have made enquiries for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, according to 90min.com. The Magpies, along with Crystal Palace and West Ham have all reportedly approached Chelsea over the availability of Gallagher, who is keen establish himself as a regular at Stamford Bridge this season.
Gallagher enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Palace during the 2021/22 campaign, scoring eight goals and providing five assists under Patrick Vieira. His fine form allowed him to break into Gareth Southgate’s England squad and Gallagher will be hoping he can pick up where he left off to ensure he is on the plane for Qatar later this year.
But Gallagher will undoubtedly find it tougher to be a regular in Chelsea’s midfield, with N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all vying to be Thomas Tuchel’s first choice pairing. The Blues are also keen on signing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, which could push Gallagher even further down the pecking order.
