Newcastle United could reportedly make a move for Joaquin Correa as Inter Milan look to accommodate their new attacking recruits. The Italian giants look set to add Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku to their frontline this summer and will need to offload one or two of their current forwards to make the necessary room.
Correa, who joined Inter on loan last summer with an obligation to buy, didn’t play as much as he would’ve liked in his first season at the San Siro and may well be moved on. In 26 Serie A appearances – which largely came from the bench – he scored six goals and registered one assist.
Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy (via Sport Witness) have claimed that the Magpies are the only club ‘on the horizon’ for the 27-year-old. Despite the fact Inter paid €31m for Correa, reports in Italy have stated that €25m might be enough to acquire his services.

While his goalscoring record might not excite the Toon Army too much, his versatility makes him an intriguing proposition. Effective anywhere across the frontline, as well as behind a main striker, Correa could be seen as a very useful addition to the squad at St James’ Park.
Although, with other attacking options being prioritised currently, the 17-time Argentina international might not be a player who is even considered by those in charge on Tyneside. A move for Hugo Ekitike - albeit not as close to completion as it once was – or any other attacking players, would all-but bring an end to any chance of United signing Correa.
