Newcastle United's new owners are eager to get started on plans for a new training ground after all quickly coming to an agreement that the current Benton base isn't up to scratch. It is believed that the club's inspection of other Premier League clubs' facilities has given the new board a great insight into the modern day standards of an ambitious European club.
Already work is under way to find a new site and what will provide the club with the best base in terms of logistics with location and accessibility high on their list of requirements. Chronicle Live understands that one potential area of the city that cropped up in early conversations was Parklands in Gosforth Park.
Areas close to Newcastle Airport have also been part of a wider conversation but nothing is concrete at this stage. But fans will simply be delighted to hear that moves are being made to take Newcastle to the next level.
