Newcastle United are ready to look to sides like Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool as the Premier League loan scene begins to gather pace. With top-flight bosses starting to whittle their squads down ahead of deadline day, Eddie Howe is ready to play the loan card he vowed to during pre-season.
United will be in a good place on that score as they can offer loanees Premier League action and the potential of a permanent deal if things go well. Howe and sporting director Dan Ashworth have will hope their excellent contact books pay off in the final few weeks of the window.
Newcastle have already been linked with Chelsea stars like Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Armando Broja with Thomas Tuchel set to make final decisions in due course. Chelsea are likely to hold on to Broja if they don't sign another striker. So it's worth keeping an eye on incoming business at Stamford Bridge this month.

And that will be across the board in the Premier League, with Newcastle included on that list as they too have decisions to make on outgoing loans with one of their goalkeepers set to leave and squad members like Javier Manquillo, Matty Longstaff and Matty Bondswell all waiting to see where they stand.
Eddie Howe keen on Gateshead link up for younger players
The Toon head coach is happy to develop Newcastle's relationship with fifth tier side Gateshead in the years ahead. That link was already enhanced with the arrival of former United goalkeeper Rob Elliot as the club's technical director.
Newcastle already have Dan Langley on loan with the Tynesiders but more youngsters could follow. The International Stadium is the ideal loan move for some youngsters as they don't have to relocate.
And the standard of football in the Vanarama National League is a good stepping stone to life in the EFL and Premier League.

The temperature could hit 30 degrees on the South Coast today as Newcastle take on Brighton. The Premier League already have mandatory drink breaks in place with the referee able to stop the game at any point if he feels the need.
United had drinks bottles scattered around the pitch against Nottingham Forest but it will be even warmer today in Brighton. Newcastle's sports science team are working hard to make sure players are getting enough fluid.
Howe said: "There's water breaks during the game which is a slightly different dynamic, hopefully we'll be ready and have enough energy for the game."
