Talk of Newcastle United co-owners looking closely into the idea of multi-club model rumbles on following Amanda Staveley's comments at the recent Financial Times' Business of Football Summit.
The Ripon financier stated that Newcastle were "looking in" to the idea of emulating Manchester City and having partnerships with clubs around the globe. Man City's long list of partners includes New York City, Melbourne City, Yokohama F. Marinos, Montevideo City Torque, Girona FC, Sichuan Jiuniu and Mumbai City FC.
A report in Bloomberg this week stated that Newcastle's co-owners had held discussions with 777 Partners. The Miami-based investment platform have Genoa of Serie A and La Liga's Seville already within their portfolio as "brands" as well as Melbourne Victory and Standard Liège in Belgium.

However, Newcastle have not commented on the talks yet and discussions about a multi-club from a United point of view are still at a very early stage.
Forest fury after Newcastle away victory
Controversial referee Paul Tierney did not just upset Newcastle on Friday night after disallowing Elliot Anderson's first senior goal. The Wigan official also left Forest annoyed with the home club making complaints about Newcastle's equaliser.
Forest felt that Andre Ayew was fouled in the build-up to the first goal for Aleksandar Isak and that the moment changed the course of the night from their point of view. City Ground supremo Evangelos Marinakis was at the heart of the protests.
Jamaal Lascelles given warm reception on return to old club
The Newcastle centre-back was warmly applauded off the field after the warm-up on Friday night then again by home fans as he left the pitch at full-time. The latter acknowledgement underlined just how strongly some Forest fans feel about the one-time Academy product.
Lascelles has vowed to fight for his place at Newcastle and has shown no signs of walking away despite just two Premier League starts this season. But after being linked with Forest in the last two transfer trading periods the door still appears open for a return to Nottingham.
For all that, if Newcastle get into Europe next season they will need plenty of back-up with up to three matches a week coming their way. A regular slot as captain in Continental competition may be enough to sway Lascelles into sticking with the Magpies.
