Newcastle United youngster Elliot Anderson remains touch and go for next Saturday's trip to Fulham.
The playmaker was withdrawn from Scotland's Under-21' double header with Northern Ireland this week and the Magpies are monitoring the 19-year-old closely for next weekend. Anderson did not even appear on the subs bench in the 1-1 draw against AFC Bournemouth.
It is understood that Anderson has a grade one hamstring injury which usually takes three weeks to recover from depending on the severity of the strain. Despite the international break, the two week gap in Premier League fixtures has been a busy period for Newcastle's medical team.

Not only have the backroom team been keeping an eye on Anderson, they have also been in regular dialogue with Brazil on Bruno Guimaraes' thigh strain and Sweden's Alexander Isak who withdrew from the squad to face Serbia.
Sweden boss Janne Andersson said: "It is of course sad mainly for Alex but also for us as a team. But after speaking with both our medical team and Alex, it is the right decision for him to leave."
Newcastle will assess Isak's chances for Craven Cottage this week. Callum Wilson is hoping to be available for Fulham after another hamstring problem in the Toon camp.
Goalie coach beats off stiff competition to get top job
Adam Bartlett was promoted to the role of Newcastle United's head of goalkeeping this week. The Magpies advertised the vacancy after the departure of Simon Smith.
But with Bartlett working closely with the first-team since January, it was decided that there should be continuity with the goalkeeping coaching staff. It is believed that there were some high profile applicants for the job but Newcastle opted to go for the former England C international stopper.
Teenage winger makes debut at Barnsley
Newcastle United's 17-year-old forward Ben Parkinson was afforded his debut during the tough 2-0 loss to Barnsley in the Papa John's Trophy on Tuesday. With United left disappointed by defeat, the appearance of Parkinson almost slipped by unnoticed.
But after solid performances for the Under-18s - with five goals and three assists for the youth team in just 19 appearances - Parkinson deserved his shot. Parkinson can play on the right wing or left wing or through the middle and is certainly one to watch.
