Newcastle United look to have landed a real talent in Yankuba Minteh after an impressing debut for Feyenoord. The Gambian winger, 18, netted for the Dutch side after coming on as a second-half substitute in the 3-1 friendly victory over PEC Zwolle on Saturday.
Minteh was given the opportunity to score from the penalty spot as Feyenoord boss Arne Slot urged the teenager to take the spot-kick to round out the comfortable win. The youngster made no mistake, burying his penalty low and hard beyond the goalkeeper.
His debut performance has clearly got Feyenoord fans, and local media, excited, with many believing Minteh will have a bright campaign in the Eredivisie. Voetbal International journalist and Feyenoord correspondent Martijn Krabbendam is one of many to hold that view.

"He was there like the chickens who grab that ball," he said at full-time. "It was determined from the bench that Minteh had to take that penalty kick and he did that excellently.
"He made a very good impression anyway, I must say. You pay attention to certain things. [His] Way of free running, speed and views.
"Everyone who has seen the game, he put four balls through for the striker. This player will of course only get fitter and better. Then Feyenoord will have a good reinforcement."
Minteh joined the Magpies earlier this month but was instantly loaned out to the Dutch outfit to get him much-needed minutes in a competitive league. It is expected the same will happen with fellow Newcastle youngster Garang Kuol this summer.
The Australian spent the second-half of last season at Hearts but struggled for game time in the Scottish top flight. Another temporary stint away is expected as a new location is sought for the attacker.
