Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe says it is still touch and go for Alexander Isak when it comes to making his debut at Liverpool. The Sweden international will travel to Merseyside and be part of the squad for the clash at Anfield.
Isak missed out at Wolves after his paperwork and work permit was not completed by the Home Office. When asked about Isak’s chances of starting, Howe said: “I desperately hope so. We are in the hands of other people.
“There is no guarantee but it is as close as 75 minutes before kick off so it may go right down to the wire. In training he has looked good although the sessions have been light.”
Howe was also asked about Martin Dubravka’s loan move to Manchester United. Reflecting on Dubravka’s potential loan exit, Howe said: “Discussions have taken place but nothing is concluded.
“From my perspective I would be sad to see him go.”
