Newcastle United have been hit by a huge blow after Joelinton picked up a ban during the 4-0 win over Aston Villa.
The Brazilian picked up a yellow card during the rout after a foul on Tyrone Mings. And subsequently is ruled out for picking up five yellow cards which results in a one game ban for next week’s trip to Southampton.
Joelinton scored in the big win over Villa after recently returning from a thigh injury. His excellent display against also came in front of watching Brazil manager Tite.
It remains to be seen whether Joelinton can earn a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad for Qatar next month.
His colleague Bruno Guimaraes is assured of a place but Joelinton would be looking for his first cap.
