Gordon disheartened by Everton send-off
Anthony Gordon admits he was left 'hurt' by Everton's short farewell statement after completing his move to Newcastle United.
He told Sky Sports News: "Yeah, it did. It hurt me a bit, I'm not going to lie. I'm a 22-year-old lad, I'm not going to handle every situation in life perfectly.

"But as a club with thousands of people working for them, I think the effort I gave them last year, I was a massive part in keeping the club up, I won Player's Player and Manager's Player of the Year. So for them not to really show me any credit or thank me for anything, it hurt me a little bit."

Howe dismisses loyalty claim
Eddie Howe has explained his selection process and indicated that player "loyalty" does not come into his thoughts when penning his Newcastle United team sheets.
When asked if loyalty was a factor to his selection process, he told ChronicleLive: "The difficulty for everybody connected with a football team is that nobody watches training except staff and players.
"You pick the team on what you see in training and not on loyalty - that’s dangerous. Where does it stop? If you have one game and you have a bad game after you've played well for two years does that mean you get a second game, third or fourth game? Where do you draw the line?
"For me, you draw the line on what you see (in training) and then you pick the team. This is how I do it.
"It is based on the best possible chance of getting a result not from getting a result from the previous game, it's about tomorrow. That's always how I've done it. I feel I can be ruthless when I need to be, but loyal when I need to be, too. It is about getting the balance right on the opponent and trying to win the match."

No presenters or pundits will feature on Match of the Day on Saturday night. The programme will 'focus on match action without studio presentation or punditry', according to a BBC spokesperson.
The move comes after presenter Gary Lineker was withdrawn from the show until he and the BBC have an "agreed and clear position on his use of social media".
Football Focus and Final Score were also axed from the BBC's television schedule today.

Murphy fighting for place
Eddie Howe has suggested Jacob Murphy has played his way into contention for a starting place at Newcastle United.
“I think he’s done very well off the bench this year but that’s not to say that’s his sole role," Howe told reporters on Friday. "He’s done well when he’s come on in the last few games and that’s not lost on me. He’s pushing to start and there’s no doubting his qualities.”
