Neville demands answers
Gary Neville has ordered Toon chiefs to answer “difficult” questions that Eddie Howe has faced on Saudi Arabia's appalling human rights record.
Yasir Al-Rumayyan penned an open letter on the eve of the one-year anniversary of the buyout - providing more regular communication in a single statement than supporters were used to in the Ashley era - but the Newcastle chairman has not yet spoken to UK press since the buyout.
"I've always said and maintained I would rather be around the table with them, try and impact change and try and highlight issues than be on the other side of the fence and don't let them in and point to other issues because these are complex issues in the whole of the Middle East," Neville told his self-titled podcast. "There's a Qatar World Cup coming up. There's Saudi Arabian ownership. There's Abu Dhabi ownership in Manchester and questions asked about that on a continuous basis.

"The reality of it is these questions are not going to go away, but I don't believe they should be always directed to the football coach. The football coach has come there to work and do his job as a football coach. He should not have to answer the difficult questions all the time.”

Jordan on Bruce sacking
Simon Jordan expects West Bromwich Albion to be the final club in Steve Bruce’s 43-year career. Almost one year on from his Magpies’ sacking, the 61-year-old was axed by the Baggies on Monday morning after a string of poor results.
“I'd be surprised if it isn't (the end of Bruce’s career),” the former Crystal Palace owner told talkSPORT. “I mean, he talked about it potentially being (the case) after the Newcastle job. That might well be because the experience is towards the end when it got very personal with certain sections of the fanbase.
“They dominate possession, but you can't take a team whose aspiration was to get into the Premier League, put them fourth-bottom in the Championship and expect those above you to remain resolute that you're the right guy.
“I do think that this may well be the closing curtain on an interesting managerial career.”

Bruno wondergoal admission
Bruno Guimaraes has confessed his fantastic solo goal against Brentford - admitting he only went on because he couldn't see anybody to pass to.
The Brazil international put in a man-of-the-match performance in the 5-1 win against the Bees. Bruno had opened the scoring with a header from Kieran Trippier's cross but the game opened up in the second half and after picking up the ball close to the left-hand touchline, Bruno made a 25-yard run before firing home from outside the area.
The South American joked: "I recovered the ball then drove forward, I went to pass the ball but couldn't see anybody. So I thought: 'OK I will shoot' and it was a beautiful kick. At this moment it was important for us because Brentford had just scored.

Petit urges ASM bid
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes Allan Saint-Maximin would be a "great signing" for his former side. The Gunners restored their place at the summit of the Premier League with a thrilling 3-2 victory against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta's side have won eight of their opening nine league games but Petit insists that investment is still needed to transform Arsenal into title challengers. He said: “If they are to strengthen I think they need wingers because Saka, Martinelli and Jesus have been great but they have no one to replace them if they get injured," Petit told Genting Casino Insights.
"Smith-Rowe is injured, and Nketiah just signed a new contract but can he be the next striker if Jesus gets injured? My answer is no. All the big teams have big wingers.
“There’s a few in England that would be my dream for Arsenal. Allan Saint-Maximin would be a great signing. Can you imagine the damage with all the players around him?

Saivet slams Ashley regime
Toon flop Henri Saivet has blasted his former club for their treatment of him during his five-and-a-half-year stay. Despite costing around £3.2million per appearance, the 31-year-old has let rip at Newcastle in a damning interview with French media.
Saivet claims no efforts were made to monitor his AFCON progress in 2019, when he helped Senegal reach the final. He told So Foot: “They (Newcastle) don’t respect the AFCON, it’s that simple. When I returned to Newcastle after the lost final against Algeria, they admitted they didn’t even follow my performances, even though I had two years left on my contract. It’s quite simply a lack of professionalism.
“Things happened that I didn’t control. They blocked me so I couldn’t leave. Newcastle were asking for indecent future sale percentages. They refused a lot of offers even though I wasn’t playing. Even for my loans, I had to force an exit. Even today, it annoys me because I don’t have an answer.”
