A Newcastle fan has come forward to claim a £50 bar tab after he was spotted in the crowd at the Etihad with a flag which read: "Let's all go to Popworld."
The Newcastle bar launched an appeal through Facebook to track down the fan who earned them a bit of free advertising on BT Sport at the match against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon. And that man is Peter Loan, a season ticket holder from Cramlington, who goes to all the away matches when he's not working overseas and was partying in the Manchester branch of Popworld the night before the game.
However, surveyor Peter, who lives in Cramlington, admitted that he got a shock when he first heard the news. He told ChronicleLive: "I didn't even know I was on television, I came down for a pint at half time at Man City and my phone had 23 missed calls and about 45 messages. I thought someone had died!"

Not only that, his ex-wife has "given him grief" for only getting one of his sons on the TV! Peter continued: "I took one son, Cameron, to Man City and now I've been told I've got to get my other son, James, on TV with the flag on Sunday - James is desperate to be on television now."
The unusual slogan comes as Peter and his mates from the Blagdon Arms use Popworld as their meeting place following a match as they all have season tickets in different areas of the stadium. And like lots of good ideas from Newcastle United fans, this one came in the pub.
He continued: "We were getting a flag done for Wembley and were debating what we should get on it in the pub. Before the match, we always say week after week, "let's gan to Popworld", and it's just a common thing so we know where to meet after the match.
"If we've had a win, we all start singing let's all gan to Popworld and that's where we end up."
The £50 bar tab might not last too long though - as it'll be shared out between Peter and 15 of his mates. He added: "That'll see us for the first half an hour and then we'll go from there, I'll hopefully be going before the match on Sunday to collect it."
Despite a 2-0 loss, Peter is optimistic for the weekend's fixture, a home game against struggling Wolves that at least looks easier on paper. He finished: "I thought we were very, very unlucky on Saturday, we were let down in the final third and we need a clinical finisher.
"But it shows how far you've come in a year that you've come away from Man City and you're gutted that you've been beaten, a year ago we would have conceded six or seven. I think it's a must win against wolves, we need to stop the rot, we should win it 2-0."
