Newcastle United hope to clinch the signing of Bruno Guimarães this weekend after provisionally agreeing on a deal with Lyon.
The 24-year-old's medical is due to take place in Brazil after his country's World Cup qualifying clash with Ecuador.
United also need to complete the usual formalities and seal personal terms but the club are confident of a deal after a "positive" dialogue throughout the day.

Add ons and clauses have also been inserted into the deal with Newcastle close to beating off competition from Juventus and Arsenal for his services.
Eddie Howe is due to face the Press via a Zoom link from Jeddah on Friday morning.
