Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe outlines Leeds United attribute his side will be wary of

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is expecting a difficult game when Leeds United head north up the A1 to take on the high flying Magpies. The Toon have been one of the standout performers since the turn of the year and they've carried that on into the current campaign.

Howe's side have lost just once this season - a 2-1 defeat on the road to Liverpool - having won six games on the bounce heading into the New Year's Eve clash. The Magpies made light work of Leicester City in their first game since the Premier League restart, putting any doubts over their ability to one side.

However, Howe is under no illusion how difficult the game against Leeds will be, saying he's been impressed by what he's seen from Jesse Marsch's side so far this season.

Howe told reporters: "It will be a difficult game. They're a good team, lots of spirit and collective mentality. They'll be supported well so we need to involve our crowd early in the game.

"From a physical perspective, it will be two teams that give their all. I've watched a lot of Leeds in preparation for this game and I've been impressed by them. We anticipate a very fast paced game between two good teams."
