Newcastle United have been backed to finish seventh in the Premier League next season, which would secure them European football for the first time in over a decade.
The Magpies are backed for big things this coming season and beyond, after a strong ending to the last campaign and with the new era under the Saudi Arabia PIF in full swing. This optimism from around the club is also reflected in the latest finishing odds from SkyBet, who have Newcastle finishing just behind Arsenal in seventh place.
Eddie Howe led a brilliant turnaround with Newcastle at the turn of the year last season, as the Magpies won 12 of their 19 league games in 2022, after some great additions in the January window, bought with the fresh injection of cash from the new owners.

They have made some strong additions in the summer also, with centre-back Sven Botman from Lille being the marquee signing so far, with Nick Pope also arriving between the sticks and Matt Targett signing permanently after successful six months on loan.
Newcastle supporters are now eagerly awaiting some additions further up the pitch, with plenty of names coming through the rumour mill as of late, but nothing concrete yet. Where the club can actually finish will likely rely on who they are able to bring in the attacking positions, with goalscoring being a struggle last term.
Callum Wilson finished as the top scorer with eight goals despite missing half the season with an injury, so they need someone who can reach double figures and stay fit as a minimum in the centre-forward position, as well as extra support on the wings to supplement what they already have.
Regardless, optimism, and expectations, are high for Newcastle this season, and that is reflected in the bookies’ odds. How they fare this year is likely to be one of the big talking points throughout.
