Newcastle United have added Jay Turner-Cooke to their squad for the club's tour of Austria.
The teenager ended last season in the first-team roster and has flown over to Austria after spending the week with the club's Under-21 squad in Spain. Turner-Cooke was signed from Sunderland's Academy and starred for the club's second string last term.
Howe certainly likes the look of attacking midfielder Turner-Cooke and included him in his squad for the Premier League trip to Manchester City.
Howe had said last season: "It would have done him the world of good to see him from afar and take it all in. "I think he’s a real talent, a player with very good technical ability.
"With the injuries to Jonjo and Joe Willock, he’s close to playing. He was close to being involved because we’re running out of midfielders. Those two players have injuries, and they’ll keep him out for the rest of the season."
