Here is your latest 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.
Chiesa hint
Rumours linking the Magpies with an ambitious swoop for Federico Chiesa refuse to go away. The Juventus forward is said to be unhappy with the Serie A giants, with no obvious spot for the forward in the 3-5-2 system preferred by Massimiliano Allegri.
Juventus' failure to qualify for the Champions League has also led to reports suggesting the club are willing to listen to offers for a number of first-team stars. Newcastle are not the only club credited with an interest in Chiesa, with both Bayern Munich and Liverpool also listed as potential destinations.
However, a new report suggesting Chiesa's agent had travelled to England for transfer talks has not escaped the attention of the Toon Army. Italian outlet Corrierre Dello Sport namechecked Chelsea and Liverpool alongside the Magpies as potential suitors.

'Pushing' for Barnes
ChronicleLive understands Newcastle are interested in Harvey Barnes, although Leicester City are proving themselves to be stubborn sellers once again. The left-sided forward netted 16 goals in all competitions last season despite the Foxes' struggles, and has also been linked to Aston Villa and Tottenham.
Now, Football Insider suggest the Magpies are now 'pushing' to get a deal done for Barnes. The report outlines the 25-year-old's age along with his Premier League experience has convinced United to make their move.
There is no suggestion in the update as to Leicester's asking price for Barnes, or the fee Newcastle are willing to pay. Previous reports have varied from around £35 million through to £50m.
