Here are the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Thursday, 6 October 2022.
Pulisic
Calcio Mercato have claimed that AC Milan are set to join the race to sign Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic. Newcastle have been linked with Pulisic, with CBS reporter Ben Jacobs suggesting that the USMNT international could be 'tempted' by a move to St James' Park.
AC Milan are also reportedly interested in Trevoh Chalobah, who is another player that is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in January. The pair started on the bench for Chelsea's clash against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.

Leeds are another side credited with an interest in Pulisic, who has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea. He has featured in each of the Blues' seven Premier League games this season but has started just once (a 2-1 win against West Ham in September). The 24-year-old has amassed 124 appearances for the Blues, scoring 25 and contributing 20 assists across all competitions.
Depay
Newcastle have moved ahead of Juventus in the race to sign Barcelona forward Memphis Depay, according to a report from Tuttojuve via Juvefc.com.
Juventus had previously been favourites to secure the Dutchman's signature, but the report suggests the Magpies have edged ahead of them.
This comes as even more of a surprise considering that Spanish outlet SPORT claimed in July that Depay had 'zero' interest in a move to St James' Park.
Depay joined Barca from Lyon on a free transfer in the summer of 2021 and scored 13 times across all competitions last term. However, The 28-year-old has started just twice in La Liga since Robert Lewandowski arrived from Bayern Munich in the summer.
Watts
Newcastle loanee Kelland Watts is expected to be in line to make his Peterborough United debut against Burton Albion on Saturday, according to the Peterborough Telegraph.
Watts has been recovering from a knee injury since July but was brought in on loan by Peterborough to avoid missing out on him until January. Newcastle agreed to pay his wages until he became match-fit and Watts has reportedly begun training with Peterborough ahead of a return to first team action.
The 22-year-old will face stern competition in the shape of the highly-rated England U20 international Ronnie Edwards, Josh Knight and Frankie Kent. The Posh have registered three straight victories across all competitions and are just two points adrift of the League One play-offs.
Watts has enjoyed previous loan spells at Stevenage, Mansfield Town, Plymouth Argyle and Wigan Athletic - winning the League One title last season with the latter. He made his only appearance for Newcastle as a second half substitute in a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool in July 2020.
