Here is your latest 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.
Depay interest?
Memphis Depay has previously been linked to Newcastle United, with Barcelona said to be keen on offloading the Netherlands international. The former Manchester United forward rebuilt his reputation with Lyon, but has so far made just three appearances this season with the Catalan giants.
Depay's contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and Barcelona have 'offered' the 28-year-old to the Magpies. That is according to Sport, who insist Eddie Howe's side are keen on a deal having mulled over a summer move.
Depay himself is said to be reluctant to seek a winter exit, but he is seen by Barcelona as a saleable asset due to their ongoing Financial Fair Play concerns. A fee of up to £13 million could reportedly be enough to agree a deal.
Mudryk latest
Mykhaylo Mudryk is another name to be linked with a move to the Magpies in recent months. Dubbed the 'Ukrainian Neymar', the 21-year-old has seemingly caught the eye of a host of Europe's elite clubs following a rapid rise at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Arsenal are considered to be the frontrunners for Mudryk's signature, with the winger himself admitting he would welcome a move to the Premier League leaders. However, French journalist Ignazio Genuardi insists Newcastle remain in 'competition' for the Ukraine international.
Recent reports suggest Shakhtar could be willing to accept a package in the region of £30m, despite previous claims suggesting a far higher fee would be required. Mudryk has registered 10 goals and eight assists in 18 appearances so far this season.
