Newcastle United have upped their bid for Dan Burn.
However, the fresh £10million offer has been rejected by Brighton with the chase for the ex-Blyth Spartans youngster turning into another saga for the Magpies.
The Magpies had an initial £7million offer turned down for the 6ft 7in defender and responded with that fresh bid.
Newcastle sources have indicated that the Magpies have increased their offer considerably and have offered Brighton some incentives with add ons.

Burn has stayed focused on the task in hand at the Amex Stadium so far this January despite interest from his boyhood club.
Chronicle columnist Lee Clark has worked with Burn at Birmingham and told us this week: He's done a great job at Brighton, and he's obviously a threat from set-plays because of his 6ft 7in frame.
"Dan has been part of a gradual build at Brighton who have progressed every year and obviously he's a Geordie lad as well.
"It ticks all the boxes so I hope it gets done."
Meanwhile, Newcastle are still hopeful of concluding a deal this weekend for Bruno Guimaraes and could yet land a deal for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike also.
