Newcastle supporters raise questions as Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak start against Brighton

Newcastle United supporters have questioned Eddie Howe's choice to start Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak together after a two games without a win. There was plenty clamour from a section of supporters to see the pair play together with both in the midst of a purple patch.

Howe rolled the dice and the pair did indeed start alongside one another, with Isak out on the left-hand flank and Wilson through the middle. However, defeat to Arsenal and a point on the road at Leeds has seen a section of supporters call for the Magpies head coach to go back to the side that was winning games on the bounce.

Needless to say the pair will start against Brighton this evening with a win handing Newcastle a huge advantage heading into the final two games of the season. A win over the Gulls, then a win over Leicester City would secure the Toon's Champions League berth.

Here's what Newcastle United supporters had to say on social media:

@SlothyVlogs tweeted: "Howe knows what he's doing."

@NUFC__NEWS said: "I hope Isak plays just behind Wilson and it’s Bruno and Joelinton in midfield with Willock on the left. Isak seems to be wasted out wide and so much better centrally."

@AdamHendo1201 said: "For me it’s start either Wilson or Isak not both at same time."

@ToonIanB said: "Yeah this ain’t it. Can only hope Isak is in the 10 role and Joelinton is wide."

@JPTVF1 tweeted: "The last two games we've played with Wilson & Isak up top hasn't gone well, I'm even more nervous now than I was before."

@paigeordie tweeted: "Still unsure about Isak/Wilson starting mind."

@KieranNUFC_ said: "Spooky line up for us but I will keep hope."
