The clamour for Newcastle United home tickets continued on Tuesday morning as fans flocked to the club website in their droves on in the hope of purchasing tickets for the upcoming Premier League season.
At one point around 20,000 supporters were in the online queue as the club released a limited amount of tickets to season ticket holders and members for the clash with Nottingham Forest on August 6.
Each member could purchase one ticket per qualifying supporter number via the online system only. Tickets ranged from £12 to £58 depending on the area of the stadium and the type of ticket purchased.

A small number of tickets will be released for online general sale at 10am on Tuesday, July 26. Fans without a season ticket or Membership will be able to purchase the tickets, and supporters can assign to friends and family once the tickets are in their basket to enable groups to sit together where possible.
Premier League rules state clubs must keep back a number of tickets for matchday sales. Rule R.6.9 outlines clubs must “promote the availability of tickets by reserving a reasonable proportion (at least 5 per cent) of them for sale to non-season ticket holders."
Tickets are also available for the upcoming away friendly with Benfica on Tuesday July 26. Under 2,000 seats available are available at present and cost £18.50 in total. Supporters can also purchase tickets for the St. James' Park double header with Athletic Bilbao and Atalanta at the end of the month.
Newcastle have also announced they will install rail seating at St James' Park this summer after the Government permitted Premier League and Championship clubs to introduce licensed ‘safe standing’ areas from the start of the 2022/23 season. Around 600 seats at the front of the away section will be replaced with rail seating in the coming weeks.
Supporters will not be permitted to stand until St. James' Park is given the green light for licensed standing but the Sports Ground Safety Authority (SGSA) has advised that the upper section of the Leazes End would benefit from having the added infrastructure in place as a priority.
