Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin can become 'one of the best wingers in the world' if he manages to find consistency. That is the view of former Magpies full-back Jose Enrique, who believes the forward 'destroyed' Kyle Walker with his recent display in the draw against Manchester City.
Saint-Maximin has not been shy in outlining his ambition to earn a senior call-up for France, and has begun the season in impressive form for the Magpies. The former Nice forward followed up his performance against the defending Premier League champions with a stunning equaliser in Sunday's draw at Wolves.
A late hamstring complaint at Molineux has likely ruled Saint-Maximin out of the trip to Anfield on Wednesday night. Eddie Howe will have to reshuffle his side with the 25-year-old joining Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson on the sidelines.

Saint-Maximin's need for consistency has been stressed by his team-mates, fans and pundits alike as he enters his fourth season at St James' Park. Enrique believes the Newcastle attacker's potential could see him become one of the best in position, if he improves his 'numbers' in the final third.
He told BoyleSports: "Allan Saint-Maximin can be one of the best wingers in the world if he finds consistency. He needs more numbers as wingers right now are not what they used to be. Now it's all about numbers. We saw against City, I've never seen Kyle Walker get destroyed like that."
