Merewether's Hickson Street is fast becoming one of the most expensive addresses in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.
Two recent sales worth a combined $10.7 million have catapulted the clifftop road within striking distance of the region's most exclusive streets, and another big-money transaction could yet be on the way.
A stunning five-bedroom home with point-blank views of the Pacific Ocean has hit the market with Belle Property Newcastle's Daniel Chalhoub.
A price guide has not been disclosed for the home, however, three other properties on the street have sold for $5.8 million or more.
Mr Chalhoub said the home occupied a one-off piece of coastline.
"This is definitely the most unique spot - its aspect is very different," he said.
"You're on the cliff, you're absolute waterfront viewing .... this has got nothing in front of you. There's only a handful like it with complete waterfront views."
The home's current owners, who are moving to Sydney to be closer to family, bought the property in 1996 as a cottage on 554 square metres.
The home was designed and built by Snell Architects in 2000 and takes in a lower-level cellar, two courtyards and a deck.

"Snell designed it to encapsulate every view from every aspect of the home. It's built around the cliff face ... it was purpose-built for that spot," Mr Chalhoub said.
"We're expecting this home to be another premium result to prove again that Hickson Street is one of the premium streets to live on in Newcastle."
Merewether's John Parade sits top of the tree as Newcastle's most expensive street thanks to $10.25 million and $7.25 million sales in the past two years.
The beachfront street is home to just 21 properties, yet outranks both Bar Beach Avenue and Parkway Avenue, which both span over two suburbs and take in 80 and 200-plus properties respectively.
A big sale is understood to have recently taken place on ninth-placed Memorial Drive, however a price has not yet been disclosed.
