A Newcastle theatre is looking to 'broaden horizons' when it comes to casting by hosting a series of open auditions for people in the North East.
Live Theatre is seizing the opportunity to meet actors and performers that they might not otherwise get to know by offering people the chance to introduce themselves. It is hoped this will allow the venue to better support the theatre scene and artists in the region.
The auditions are open to all actors currently based in the North East, and in keeping with Live Theatre's dedication to improving accessibility, the Newcastle Quayside -based venue is providing options to audition either in person or online. And auditions can be as simple as having a quick chat.

While the theatre is not casting for anything specific, those who work at the theatre always have future productions in the back of their minds in the hope of meeting people who might be the right fit for one of their approaching shows. Everyone's details and notes are kept on file, and the theatre will be looking back on them every time a new show is cast.
Applications to audition can be made via the Live Theatre website here before 10am on Wednesday, July 6. And those who apply must be aged 18 or over and live within the North East.
Audition spots will be allocated at random once the application window has closed, though auditions will continue to be held throughout the year to ensure they get to see everyone who wants to be seen.
If offered a place, you will be given a 10 minute slot between 10am - 4pm on Monday, July 11, Wednesday, July 13 or Friday, July 15 2022.
