A 'unique' whisky festival which is due to make its debut in Newcastle will showcase independent makers and a range of flavours that promise something for everybody.
The Whisky Indie Love Fest 2022 will be hosted in the Tyne Bank Brewery in Newcastle in September, the day before the Great North Run, and already the hope is that it will become an annual event. While it is set to attract whisky fans far and wide, it also promises to be an education for anyone who might have written off the tipple as not for them.
"I believe there is a whisky for everybody," says its organiser Karl Glenn who runs the North East Whisky Appreciation Society. And he speaks from experience as he admits that he never used to like the spirit himself.
