Newcastle Restaurant Week booking details as NE1 event returns this August

Meal deals starting at just £10 will be attracting hordes of food-lovers into the city this August for NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week's second outing of the year.

Many of our top restaurants are inviting people to dine out from August 8-14 on menus specially created to showcase a range of what they do. And that means a worldwide spread of cuisine will be on offer for price options of £10, £15 or £20. Regulars to the twice-yearly NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week, which has been going strong since 2011, tend to make the most of the opportunity to explore as many eateries as possible within the seven days.

Thanks to the city's ever-changing dining scene, new ones are added to every event. The week is warmly welcomed by the restaurants too as being chance to show off their culinary flair to a wide audience and Restaurant Week's 2022 return in January, following two years' absence due to the pandemic, was seized upon by the 77 eateries which joined in.

This time around even more are proving keen to be involved, with a whopping 112 restaurants currently preparing their menus for the occasion. Customers like to be quick off the mark to ensure that they bag a table at their chosen location before they're all booked up and they know how to go about it but for those not familiar with the format here's how the system works.

How to book for Restaurant Week

First of all, to scroll through the options which will be on offer, visit organiser NE1 Ltd's website here where every participating restaurant in Newcastle is listed. Clicking on the name of the venue will reveal exactly what the deal there is and what it will be offering.

They do vary and, although most of the offers will apply throughout the week, some do have limitations on particular days or times. The deals themselves vary too: some offer a tapas selection; others a mix of one, two or three courses for varying prices.

There is also an option to click on 'more about this venue' to find out what type of food the restaurant specialises in and where in the city it is situated. Once you've made your choice - and remember venues tend to book up fast so you may be better off having a second and third choice to check out - click 'get this offer'.

This then opens up a box inviting you to give your name and email address and to click on 'get my voucher'. From there you can download the 'voucher' - which contains details of the menu and the specific deal on offer too - as a PDF which you then take along to your chosen restaurant once you've booked.

To book a table for a specific date and time during Restaurant Week you must contact the restaurant direct and the contact details will be on the downloaded voucher. See the full list of venues here.
