Newcastle nights out in the 80s - neon cocktails, sticky carpets, mirrored walls and glitter balls

With city nightlife constantly in a state of flux, club-loving readers - of a certain age anyway - will wax lyrical about Newcastle nightspots of old.

And while several traditional city centre pubs are digging in their heels as the city centre changes around them, with new bars - never pubs these days - regularly opening in a fanfare of fizz, the old clubs - huge favourites in their day - haven't stood the test of time.
