Newcastle mum with incurable cancer opens up after also tragically losing younger sister to the disease

A Newcastle mum courageously battling terminal cancer is raising funds in memory of her younger sister who tragically lost her own cancer fight.

Laura Underwood is on a mission to make as many memories as possible after being diagnosed with incurable bowel cancer in October last year. The 39-year-old had gone to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with pain in her shoulder and underwent tests for a suspected blood clot.

However, doctors found a tumour in Laura's bowel and she was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer that has spread to her lungs. Laura, tragically, has been told that her cancer is terminal and the Throckley mum has been given around 18 months to live.
