The skies above Newcastle will light up amid a stunning display of lasers for three nights over the New Year, as the Light City show returns for a second year.
The stunning three-night spectacle will launch on December 30. There are multiple shows to watch each night as well as an interactive element in between.
This year, the show display has been designed by Bafta-winning artist Seb Lee-Delisle. He has also composed an original score to go with it.

Where is the best place to watch the laser show in Newcastle?
The organisers say that the best place to view the lasers is along the Quayside, directly opposite the HMS Calliope naval base.
The perfect conditions are when there’s a slight haze in the air and not too much cloud cover - if it’s like this, the lasers can be seen from miles around! In less ideal conditions the lasers are most visible when they’re coming towards you.
How can people get involved with the laser show?
There will be specific lasers installed on the Tyne Bridge that members of the public can control. Simply visit the Laser Light City website and, when the lasers are turned on, there’ll be an opportunity to join the queue - once it’s your turn, you’ll be able to control the lasers by moving your finger over the screen of your smartphone with different options for colours and shapes, too.
