Joelinton is an 'absolute machine' who has an 'unbelievable future' with Newcastle United. That is the view of Magpies stand-in skipper Kieran Trippier, who named the former club-record signing as his toughest opponent in training.
Joelinton is now one of the first names on the teamsheet under Eddie Howe, having previously struggled to impress for two seasons under Steve Bruce. The 26-year-old has been successfully reinvented from a failed central striker into an all-action midfielder, and has dovetailed with Joe Willock on the left flank in recent weeks.
Joelinton has registered four goals and three assists in all competitions this season, scoring in the Carabao Cup quarter-final and semi-final victories over Leicester City and Southampton. Trippier initially praised Callum Wilson after being asked about his toughest opponent in training at Benton, before singling out Newcastle's number seven for praise.

He told Vibe with Five: "The one player is Joelinton. I've played with a lot of South Americans over the years, and he's proper 100% in training every day. He's an unbelievable player, an absolute machine.
"The turnaround in his career from what I've heard before the takeover until now is remarkable. What a player he is, he's got an unbelievable future ahead of him."
