Allan Saint-Maximin has revealed that Newcastle United team-mate Jonjo Shelvey is 'one of the best players' he has ever seen.
Saint-Maximin and Shelvey have shared a dressing room for more than three years now and the pair will both have key roles to play at Newcastle in the coming months once they are fully up to speed following their respective muscle issues. Saint-Maximin may yet return to action before the World Cup starts while Shelvey is building up his minutes after making his first competitive appearance since April in the 2-1 win at Spurs last week.
Saint-Maximin, Shelvey and record signing Alexander Isak have all been sidelined of late so you can understand why Eddie Howe feels there is still so much more to come from his side, who are currently flying in fourth place in the table after losing just one game. It is easy to forget that Shelvey has yet to make a start this season and Howe admitted last week that the playmaker is as 'fit as I've seen him'.

Shelvey helps this side tick in the middle of the park with his passing range so when asked which player he always wanted on his team in training, Saint-Maximin only had one team-mate in mind during a Q&A session with the Premier League.
"Jonjo," he said. "He's one of the best players I've seen. Very technical and when I am with him, I always win so I like to be with him in training."
