Four of the top five best-value holiday destinations popular with tourists from Britain can be flown to from Newcastle International Airport.
Marmaris in Turkey, Bulgaria's Sunny Beach, the Algarve in Portugal and Paphos, Cyprus all made it into the top five best value destinations according to the Post Office Holiday Money Report.
The report surveys 36 popular holiday destinations worldwide, comparing prices for meals, drinks and other essentials. The eight items surveyed - a three-course evening meal for two with wine, bottle of beer, glass of wine, can of Coca-Cola, large bottle of still water, cup of coffee, suncream and insect repellent - were chosen as "representative of the purchases British tourists are likely to make," the Post Office says.
