Newcastle grandmother celebrates 100th birthday with one of the first cards from the King

Newcastle grandmother Marcella Cook has seen 22 Prime Ministers, 23 Olympic Games, and five monarchs in her lifetime.

And now she has received a piece of history after being sent one of the first cards from the King to mark her 100th birthday.

Marcella Cook, from Fenham, has always loved the Royal family, so she was delighted to be sent a card and photograph of King Charles III and the Queen Consort to congratulate her on her milestone birthday. The special keepsake also marks an important part of history as one of the first cards of its kind to be sent out by the King following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September.
