Newcastle given James Maddison news after 'annoying deal structure' amid Joao Pedro hope

Newcastle have found negotiating transfers a tricky business this summer given selling clubs know how deep their pockets are.

Watford have joined Leicester City in challenging the Magpies to get their hands deeper if they are serious about landing one of their prized assets in Joao Pedro. FOXES HOLD FIRM ON STAR MIDFIELDER

Newcastle could miss out on midfield target James Maddison after annoying Leicester City with a “buy now pay later” structured deal.

The Leicester Mercury has relayed the Foxes disappointment about Newcastle’s attempts after knocking back two offers at £35million and another at £45m. HOWE NOT GIVEN UP ON JOAO

Newcastle United have not given up hope on signing Joao Pedro from Championship outfit Watford according to the Northern Echo.

Having had an initial offer of £20million for the Brazilian youngster turned down they are ready to test Watford’s resolve with an increased offer of £25m.

Pedro, 20, is not only keen on playing Premier League football but also said to be wanting to hook up with compatriots Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes. And, according to the Chronicle, he is surprised that Watford are standing in his way given they accepted a similar fee from Forest for Emmanuel Dennis.

MAGPIES CONSIDER STUTTGART GIANT

Newcastle United are considering trying to steal Stuttgart target man Sasa Kalajdzic away from Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Kalajdzic, 25, has been linked with three Premier League clubs but Newcastle are emerging as favourites according to the Daily Mail. The 6’6” striker has struggled with injuries which limited his Bundesliga appearances to 15 games last season but still scored six goals following 16 in 2020-21.

PULISIC HEADING NORTH?

Chelsea are ready to offload USA international captain Christian Pulisic and Newcastle could be front of the queue for his services.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Leeds and Newcastle are interested as well as some of Serie A’s biggest sides. Pulisic, 23, has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea following the arrival of Raheem Sterling. And the ex-Dortmund attacker is happy to stay in the Premier League.
