Brendan Rodgers dropped '100% committed' James Maddison claim
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers believes James Maddison is "100%" committed to the Foxes. The 25-year-old played all 90 minutes of Leicester's Premier League opener which saw them draw 2-2 with Brentford at the King Power Stadium.
Newcastle United have already had two bids for Maddison rejected, with the Foxes estimating the England international to be worth around £60m. When asked prior to their clash against Brentford whether Maddison was fully committed to Leicester's cause, Rodgers replied: "Yes 100%. I think it’s always a challenging time until the window shuts."

Newcastle United's Callum Wilson hailed as England's 'second best striker' after Harry Kane
TalkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino believes Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson is England’s "next best" forward after Harry Kane. Wilson opened his goal scoring account for the new season with a classy flick to seal Newcastle’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at St James’ Park on Saturday.
The Newcastle forward has made no secret of his desire to break into Gareth Southgate's England plans for the World Cup in Qatar later this year. “We talked at length about Callum Wilson yesterday and I said he’s the next best after Kane for me, in terms of England strikers,” Cascarino declared on talkSPORT.

Sven Botman and Martin Dubravka's reactions to being left out said so much after Newcastle talks
As is now tradition for Newcastle United, the players and staff gathered for their dressing room team photograph after they beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 on the opening day of the Premier League season. There were plenty of beaming smiles and roars of delight on show in the photo, with Sven Botman and Martin Dubravka's reactions perhaps providing the best insight into how strong the spirit in the Magpies dressing room currently is.
Dubravka had been Newcastle first choice shot stopper since his arrival back in January 2018, but has since been supplanted by new summer signing Nick Pope. Botman was signed for big money this summer from Lille, but had to wait until injury time to make his Newcastle debut.
Dan Burn started at centre-back alongside Fabian Schar, and was at his impervious best on the opening day. While both could have personal worries and doubts, they did not let that show in the Magpies team photo - especially Dubravka, who's roar of delight was clear for all to see.
It shows just how strong the spirit inside the Newcastle dressing room is at the moment.
