Here is your 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.
Rudiger claim
Antonio Rudiger's future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months, with the Chelsea defender set to become a free agent this summer. Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all been linked with moves for the German international.
Now, the Daily Telegraph report the Magpies have 'entered the race' for the centre-back, who could yet decide to remain in the capital. Rudiger has so far made 124 appearances for the Blues, and has lifted a raft of trophies including the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup.
Ekitike latest
Hugo Ekitike snubbed a deadline-day move to St James' Park, with his agent later clarifying the wonderkid was not convinced about the 'sporting project' on Tyneside. The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season with Stade de Reims, scoring nine times in 21 Ligue One appearances so far.
Italian outlet Calciomercato claim Newcastle remain interested in the French teenager despite being turned down less than two months ago. Ekitike has since been linked with a host of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
