It was a play that won Geordie favourite Cheryl huge acclaim and now West End chiller 2:22 A Ghost Story is set to travel north, with former EastEnders star Louisa Lytton taking over the lead role.
The cast has just been announced for the upcoming tour of the award-winning show in which the Girls Aloud star made such an impression when she made her debut on the London stage early this year, in the role of haunted mother Jenny in the much-talked-about thriller written by Newcastle's own Danny Robins, which saw her follow in the footsteps of the likes of Laura Whitmore and Lily Allen.
Cheryl's run at the Lyric Theatre ended in late April, with Jaimie Winstone taking over her part, and now the play billed as a 'supernatural phenomenon' is taking to the road - with a new cast - and is set to visit Newcastle when it will bring an extra chill to the air in the autumn during its September 19-23 run at the Theatre Royal., with limited tickets still available for the theatre's website.
It has now been announced that Louisa Lytton - best known for playing Ruby Allen in EastEnders will take on the role of Jenny, a new mum who becomes more and more convinced that her house is haunted.

Also in the touring cast will be another ex EastEnders star, Joe Absolom, whose character Matthew Rose was at the centre of a huge storyline at the turn of the millennium, when he was wrongly imprisoned for the murder of Saskia Duncan. The company also includes Nathaniel Curtis of It's A Sin and The Witcher fam. and Charlene Boyd (Mayflies and River City) as visiting friends Ben and Lauren who during a house dinner party are persuaded to stay up until 2:22am to put the haunted theory to the test.
Louisa, who in 2006 became the youngest ever contestant of Strictly Come Dancing at the age of just 17, said she is 'elated' to take part in the first tour of 2:22, calling hers a "a gift of a role" and adding of the chiller: "Writing like this does not come around often."
The man responsible, award-winning North East writer Danny Robins who also created hit BBC podcast The Battersea Poltergeist, said: “I’m thrilled with our first cast for the tour and can’t wait to see how each actor brings their own distinctive take to the play. It's quite the journey we are on and we look forward to spooking new audiences across the UK!"
He says audiences will find themselves questioning who to believe and if they dare to discover the truth - and adds that he has had spooky experiences himself in his own home. “There’s something in our house," he said. "I hear it every night, at the same time.”
