Teenage wonderkid Lewis Miley needs to stay 'hungry' and 'humble' to build upon his 'positive start' at Newcastle United. That is the view of Elliott Dickman, with the U21s boss expressing his hope that the 16-year-old will be given more chances to impress Eddie Howe in first-team training.
Miley has enjoyed a fine start to the campaign, and made his second start for the second-string in the narrow defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday night. It was a difficult evening for the hosts, but the tricky winger showed glimpses of the talent which has generated excitement around the club.
Miley earned a call-up to England under-17s last month and scored for his country against Finland in the Nordic Championships. The teenager was rewarded for his progress with the Jack Hixon award last week, which is handed out each year to Tyneside's most promising youngster.

Dickman has stressed it is still early days for the attacking midfielder, who was named on the bench for the pre-season friendly wins Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao. The Newcastle boss has urged Miley to keep his feet on the ground, but admits the rising star has shown all of the necessary attributes to kick on in black-and-white.
Dickman told ChronicleLive: "He's still young within his development, but he's showed signs of handling the ball and controlling it well. He's got a real composure to his play, he makes really good decisions.
"He still has a lot of developing to do physically and in other areas which I'm sure will come in time. In general, he's had a really positive start to his scholarship.
"He's got to stay hungry and humble, and keep working hard on all areas of his game. I'm sure he'll do that, because what we've seen so far, he's definitely showed signs of being that person. It's important that he does it, and we want him to continue to develop on the physical side and in his football.
"He's spent a lot of time with the under-18s and I think the staff have done a terrific job with him. He's one of the few who's had the opportunity to train with the first-team, and hopefully he gets more chances to do that."
