Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has named Marcus Rashford as the best player he's ever played with, insisting this season's consistency means people are now putting him up with the best.
Rashford has enjoyed his greatest season at United since breaking into the first-team in 2016, with 29 goals from his 52 appearances across all competitions. The 25-year-old has been crucial to this season's push for a Champions League place and Carabao Cup win, having scored almost three times anyone else in red.
The Reds man has enjoyed a level of consistency not seen in previous seasons, whether it be due to drops in form or minor injuries throughout a campaign. But Wilson, who will have been with Rashford as part of the England setup previously, already knew of his quality.

"The best player I've probably played with is Marcus Rashford," Wilson told JD Sports. "I think he's now come into form and people are seeing the best of him, but even before that, as someone who's played with him and trained with him, you see his quality and how good he actually is.
"You're waiting for him to do it on more regular and consistent basis, and now he's doing that, the whole world are kind of putting him in the category that he should be in."
Rashford's goals have proven pivotal not only in United winning the Carabao Cup, but also making it to the FA Cup final and all but sealing their place in next season's Champions League.
Speaking to Premier League productions last week, the England international admitted it's been his best season but insisted silverware remains the main goal.
"For me, it's about the trophies," he said. "We've got the opportunity to secure Champions League football and the big one is to win another piece of silverware. That's what we're going to try to do. So that's what the aim is now."
