Newark RSPCA charity shop boarded up after crash

An RSPCA charity shop has been boarded up after a vehicle crashed into the front of it.

The shop on Albert Street in Newark was damaged due to the incident on Sunday, February 13.

Pictures taken on Albert Street show traffic cones surrounding the area of the shop which was damaged.

The shop has since been boarded up.

The RSPCA Nottinghamshire East Branch remains closed on Tuesday, February 15.

It is not the first time the shop, which has been in the town since 1976, has been damaged in recent years.

Back in 2019, a car crashed into a building, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage and putting the shop's future at risk.

A fundraising page was set up, raising more than £800 for the branch to go towards repairs.

Nottinghamshire Live has attempted to contact the shop for comment.
