New Zealand women's haka 'one of the most incredible ever' as commentators stunned

The haka is something we never get tired of in the rugby community, with the infamous tradition sending shivers down your spine as you watch New Zealanders prepare for battle on the rugby field. We often see the All Blacks lauded for their jaw-dropping renditions of it, but it is the women's national team - the Black Ferns - who stole the show at the weekend.

The Black Ferns - ranked second in the world behind only England - were taking on the USA in their final match of Pacific Four 2022, a game which would complete an undefeated series for the Kiwi side via a 50-6 win.

Whereas the All Blacks perform the 'Ka Mate' rendition of the haka, the Black Ferns have their own version, Ko Ūhia Mai, which means 'Let It Be Known'.

You can hear the crowd cheer as the opening screams of the war dance bellow out. The next player steps forward and injects a level of passion which takes the haka to another level. The rasp in her voice invigorates those present as the tension within the stadium comes to the boil. This is shortly followed by a chorus of of voices, all chanting and moving in unison. A USA player is pictured looking understandably awe-struck.

There isn't one person out of place, the facial expressions on every player portrays to the audience just how much this iconic ritual means to them. They are ready to go to war and there is no mistaking it.

Upon its conclusion, the commentator simply says: "Wow. That is one of the most incredible Haka I have ever seen."

The video has notched up an incredible 424,000 views on Facebook, and viewers have been taken aback by this marvellous example of New Zealand tradition.

"Best tradition in global sports anywhere," said one fan. "Awesome, powerful women - so proud to see them in full throttle. We need more of this positive reporting," said another.

The Black Ferns won all three of their Pacific Series games, defeating USA, Canada and Australia, to seal the tournament.

Wales Women will face the reigning world champions Black Ferns in October during the pool stages of the postponed Rugby World Cup, which is being staged in New Zealand.
