NEW DELHI: In a significant development for the New Zealand cricket team, pace bowler Lockie Ferguson, who was sidelined due to injury, is now deemed fit and "available" for their crucial ICC Cricket World Cup clash against Pakistan scheduled for Saturday.
Ferguson had to walk off the field during a game against Australia last Saturday after experiencing discomfort in his right Achilles. This injury subsequently ruled him out of New Zealand's recent match against South Africa, a game that ended in a 190-run defeat, marking their third consecutive loss after an initial run of four wins.
New Zealand Cricket confirmed the positive news, stating, "Lockie Ferguson's scan on his right Achilles revealed no significant damage, and it's hoped he'll be available for Saturday's game against Pakistan in Bengaluru."
