The files cover air quality, health concerns, and the city's response after the World Trade Center collapsed, and they landed three days before the 25th anniversary of the attacks.
The release is a legal and political story. It is also a medical one, and the medical part is not finished. Federal data published this spring show the illness curve from that dust still bending upward, and the group climbing fastest is not the one most Americans picture when they think about 9/11 health effects.
