New York Jets rookie sensation Sauce Gardner has hinted that he has something information on Aaron Rodgers' situation with his team potentially interested.
Rodgers' off-season saga is already well underway begun with his Green Bay Packers future looking more and more uncertain, after neither side has given convincing answers on their intentions for the 2023 season.
Speaking on the Pat McAfee show, Rodgers hinted that he believes the team may want to rebuild their roster - something he wants no part of as he enters the last few years of his illustrious career.
Rodgers was first linked with the Jets just days after the Packers were eliminated from the playoffs, with the Packers leaking that it would take two first-round selections to acquire him.
As well as the Jets though, the Las Vegas Raiders have been the consensus choice on where Rodgers will end up - reuniting with Davante Adams. But the Jets might just have upper hand at this point...
Speaking to NFL Network, Gardner indicated that the Jets have a plan, which he knows about. He said: "I can't speak on it too much, but I know a little something about something."
With Gardner already an elite player, it would not be unrealistic for the front office to speak to him to let him know of their intentions, an action which regularly takes place in the NFL.
Whether the Jets will make a move for Rodgers, remains to be seen, but they will have other options to explore if a trade is not pulled off.
Free agency is set to begin in just a matter of weeks, with Lamar Jacokson, Geno Smith, Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo all set to hit the market, and will cost nothing to acquire.
And if the Jets do not want to sign one of these free agents, and fail in a trade, they could look to this year's intriguing draft class of quarterbacks.
The 2023 draft will see Bryce Young (Alabama), CJ Stroud (Ohio State), Will Levis (Kentucky) and Anthony Richardson (Florida) all likely to be taken in the top 15 selections - with the Jets in need to trade up if they are to select one of the top prospects.
The team showed last year that with competent quarterback play, they have the defense to trouble any team, and could be a legitimate Super Bowl threat if they make the right decision.
