New York and Las Vegas share a lot of things.
Frank Sinatra, for example, may have been singing about his love of New York, but he was doing it from stages on the Las Vegas Strip more often than not.
DON'T MISS: Resort Casino Has Answer for Frustrated Las Vegas Strip Visitors
Both Las Vegas and New York could honestly share the "city that never sleeps" moniker because both operate 24/7. There are few places in the world where you can sit down for a steak at 2 a.m. and both of these cities are on that list.
Las Vegas also has its own tribute to Manhattan in MGM Resorts International's (MGM) New York New York Resort Casino. The casino, which features its own version of the Statue of Liberty, is loosely New York themed offering more a tribute to Manhattan than a replica.
In addition. Caesars Entertainment (CZR), which has recently lost New York staple Raos, and will soon close another NYC icon in the Old Homestead Steakhouse, will soon add an outpost of the city's famed Peter Luger Steakhouse.
Bits of New York are all over the Strip and now another Manhattan institution is coming to the Miracle Mile Shops adjacent to Caesars Planet Hollywood.
Famed Restaurant Coming to the Las Vegas Strip
Manhattan restaurants have been expanding outside the Big Apple. South Florida, for example, has become home to outposts of many famous New York eateries because so many New Yorkers moved south during the covid pandemic.
Las Vegas has always been a place where the best restaurants try to expand and another one, Rosa Mexicano, has found a new home at the Miracle Mile Shops, directly on the Strip.
The restaurant's national real estate advisor, Brand Urban, has helped the chain sign a lease for a 12,340-square-foot restaurant in the evolving shopping center. Its newest Rosa Mexicano -- an upscale Mexican restaurant -- will be the company's largest.
It's expected to open in late 2023.
“We’re thrilled to help bring Rosa Mexicano to Las Vegas, one of the premiere dining and entertainment destinations in the country,” said Brand Urban Founder Taryn Brandes in a press release. “Miracle Mile Shops is the perfect location for the brand’s entry into the Southwest, and we have no doubt that Rosa Mexicano will resonate with the as Vegas consumer, playing off of the incredible energy on the Strip."
The chain offers a made-from-scratch Mexican menu. It's Las Vegas location will offer a capacity of about 430 guests, three bars, a to-go frozen margarita station and a private dining room with seating for up to 100.
"In addition to the sprawling restaurant interiors, Rosa Mexicano Las Vegas also boasts an expansive 2,600-square-foot Strip-facing outdoor patio and bar that can accommodate 80 guests and will feature a fun branded Rosa Mexicano truck, according to the press release.
Las Vegas Strip's Miracle Mile Shops Keep Evolving
The addition of Rosa Mexicano to the Miracle Mile Shops is part of a much larger overhaul of the mall-like shopping center. One of the largest shopping centers on the Strip, Miracle Mile takes its name from the mile of shops and restaurants it offers.
Since 2022, it has been undergoing an extensive interior and exterior transformation complete with elevated finishes, upgraded technology and digital design elements. It has been open during construction and the work is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
As part of the renovation a number of restaurants and stores lost their leases -- with the old tenants generally being replaced with more upscale options. But, even though the mall is changing, it's maintaining some connection to the shopping center as it was when it opened in 2000.
While the design has been updated, it still pays tribute to its Desert Passage roots, since the mall was originally connected to the Aladdin Hotel & Casino and modeled after an Arabian bazaar. The new Miracle Mile Shops will celebrate that heritage by keeping a piece of the original flooring and adding a hanging art piece created to match the flooring’s design.
"The iconic indoor rain show, also originating from the mall’s Desert Passage days," was also renovated, according to a press release. "The rain show’s famous sky-painted ceiling will also remain at Miracle Mile Shops."
